Tom’s Tutorial For Excel: Summing For Multiple Conditions

When you need to sum, average, or analyze data based on more than one condition, the SUMPRODUCT function is an excellent tool for the job.

The pictured table shows an example of sales activity in the widget industry that includes several different regions, companies, and prices. SUMPRODUCT helps you see “how much of this” depends on “these and those” or “these and those and them”.
