Here’s a tip for showing Excel’s Help window for the function you are in the process of entering.
In the picture, the numbers in column C are wanting to be subtotaled. The SUBTOTAL
function has 11 different mathematical argument numbers — not easy to memorize!
When you start a formula with the equals sign as usual, and then type in a function name and its opening parentheses character, you’ll see a screen tip pop up. Notice where the red arrow is pointing, which is the function name that is actually a link to that function topic in Excel Help.

When you click that function name link, the Help window opens, as shown here by example.
